Student Work - Junior Spring

Switchback is an experimental zine created to highlight seven alpine U.S. National Parks. Through this project, I developed a complete logo and branding system, with the name Switchback inspired by the trail term. For the visuals, I created a variety of illustrations and experimented with a purple monochromatic color palette, something I had never explored before. I also incorporated orange throughout the design to add a vibrant pop of color and create contrast against the monochromatic palette. By combining photography and illustrations, I created a scrapbook-inspired aesthetic that reflects the adventure and nostalgia of exploring national parks. I printed and saddle-stitched each zine by hand before finishing it with a custom Switchback logo sticker on the cover. This project was also selected for display in the 2026 Samford Student Juried Show.
